Day trip to visit Portsmouth GBG pubs
Beer Festival thank you trip to Portsmouth. Coach to leave Solihull/Shirley about 9am and returning around 10pm. This should allow about 7 hours in Portsmouth - plenty of time to visit GBG pubs and other attractions.
The trip is free to those that helped at the beer festival.
There will be a number of spare places open to all other members and their guests at a reduced rate - if you are interested please contact Martin Buck

Nottingham pub crawl
We will be looking to catch the 10.19 train from Birmingham New Street, arriving into Nottingham at 11.28. The draft list of pubs are:
VAT & FIDDLE Queens Bridge Road NG2 1NB. 200 yards from the railway station. Castle Rock Brewery tap and has 12 handpulls. Full range of Castle Rock plus occasional guests.
THE CANALHOUSE Canal Street NG1 7EH. Castle Rock pub with generally 3 Castle Rock beers and up to 3 guests on. The Canalhouse is unique in that there is a canal boat parked inside the pub (one of the ways to the bar is across a bridge over the canal).
YE OLD TRIP TO JERUSALEM Brewhouse Yard, NG1 6AD. At the foot of Nottingham Castle, built into the rock face. One of the oldest pubs in Nottingham. Owned by Greene King has Nottingham beers and other locals/Regionals as guests.
CRAFTY CROW Friar Lane, NG1 6EB. Magpie Brewery’s first pub. 10 beers including good range of microbrewery beers, and real ciders.
THE ROUNDHOUSE Royal Standard Place NG1 6FS. This building was part of the old Nottingham General Hospital. A freehouse with 6 beers on offer and the house beer Roundheart, is brewed by Dancing Duck.
HAND & HEART 65–67 Derby Road NG1 5BA. Freehouse and sister pub to the Roundhouse, also has Roundheart as the house beer plus 7 ever changing guests. CAMRA discount: 10p pint 5p half
ORGAN GRINDER Alfreton Road NG7 3JE. Blue Monkey Brewery tap. 9 beers, Blue Monkey plus Doom Bar. We may call into the Sir John Borlase Warren (11 beers) and/or the Falcon (8 beers) on Canning Circus on the way back into the city centre.
BELL INN Angel Row NG1 6HL. Arguably the oldest pub in Nottingham. With 3 separate rooms, owned by Greene King with a full range of their beers, plus guests from Nottingham Brewery. Note: the house beer is from Greene King.
BARREL DROP 7 Hurts Yard NG1 6JD. On alley off Angel Row. Micropub with up to 10 guest beers on stillage + Real Cider
CROSS KEYS Byard Lane NG1 2GJ. Freehouse run by Great Northern Inns with beers from Navigation Brewery, both their regular and seasonal offerings. You may find a couple of guests as well.
NEWSHOUSE Canal Street NG1 7HB. 2 room Castle Rock pub. 2 Castle Rock beers and 2 guests which usually includes a mild.
